In addition to the Ministry to the Incarcerated The Diocesan offfice of Criminal Justice Ministry is forming support groups for families of the incarcerated.
New Life Ministry in Midland is establishing a support group for families with a loved one in prison or jail.
A seven week program, concluding with a healing Mass, will begin on Thursday evening February 7th at 7pm in rooms 1 & 2 of St. Stephen’s parish hall. Please bring your children, as a separate program will be offered for them.
A different topic for reflection will be presented each week. There will be time devoted to listen to others and share, if one desires. Prayer will be an important part of our time together, calling on the Holy Spirit for strength, understanding and healing in the midst of our struggles. As a Church, we are to be Christ’s hands and feet, offering love and compassion, so that everyone might experience peace and a renewed sense of hope, a New Life in Christ.
Please come to our first session to witness God’s love in action through the support of others, dealing with similar problems. This is a community wide support group, open to all. If you know of an individual or family dealing with incarceration or a related issue, please invite them to come.
If you would like further information, contact Deacon Bob Leibrecht at 889-3858.
